This conference, “Educating Character across the University,” will highlight promising work on character education in the university context and strengthen a community of scholars across institutions and academic communities. The conference will feature presentations, panels, and workshops focused on integrating character into courses, designing character-related co-curricular programming, assessing character-related curricula and programs, and building a culture of character within colleges and universities.
Cornel West, the author, activist, philosopher, public intellectual, and civil rights leader, will kick off the conference with a moderated discussion about character and education, and we’re expecting a lively and insightful evening. We’re holding this event on December 1 at 6 p.m. inside Wait Chapel on campus. The discussion will be free and open to students, faculty, staff, and the public. You do not have to register for the conference to attend our event with Dr. West.
The conference is also free, and aimed at educators and administrators from colleges and universities across the nation and the world. Workshops, panels, and networking events are scheduled for December 2 and 3, 2022.
