“The Respectful Dissent”: Honoring the Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

To commemorate the life and work of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her boundary-breaking service on the United State Supreme Court, the Program for Leadership and Character co-hosted “The Respectful Dissent: A Tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Career of Exemplary Leadership and Character” with the American Constitution Society, the Federalist Society, and Women in Law at Wake Forest University.

Members of the Wake Forest community and beyond joined virtually on Thursday, October 15, 2020 for a discussion of Justice Ginsburg’s example of justice and courage with Wake Forest Professor Richard Schneider and Vanderbilt Professor Brian Fitzpatrick. Professors Schneider and Fitzpatrick shared their knowledge of the groundbreaking cases on which Justice Ginsburg ruled, her legacy of leadership on the court, and their personal experiences clerking under Justices Ginsberg and Scalia. The conversation was moderated by students from the Wake Forest School of Law and was followed by a Q & A that further explored the impact Justice Ginsburg’s life leaves on our courts and our country.
