Research and Resources Coordinator for Communities of Impact


Sammy Salazar is the Research and Resources Coordinator for Communities of Impact within the Educating Character Initiative at Wake Forest University. In his role, he helps build and maintain the online community platform, Character Commons, facilitating connections, resource sharing, and collaboration across the growing ECI network. Sammy’s work has focused on helping community-based organizations develop systems and practices that make data more accessible and useful. Prior to joining the team, Sammy worked as the Data & Technology Manager at Houston in Action, where he supported over 65 organizations across the Houston area through the development of data infrastructure, individualized coaching, and technical support to strengthen their organizing efforts. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University. Outside of work, Sammy enjoys reading and going on walks with his rescue pug, Dillon.
