Bio

Leanna Bernish is the Fellow for Research, Assessment, and Programming in the Program for Leadership and Character. She graduated with honors in psychology and a minor in health and human services from Wake Forest University in 2024 and is a Stamps Scholars alumna. Before joining the Program, she worked as the Wake Forest Fellow in the Division of Campus Life. In this role she dedicated her focus to the mental health and public health of Wake Forest students, faculty, and staff through planning outreach events, serving on multiple advisory groups, and conducting institutional research to identify action steps for the betterment of Wake Forest. Her current research focuses on post-traumatic growth, mental health, and well-being, and she is excited to expand her research experience to the field of character education with a focus on high-achieving students. Leanna is also looking forward to building additional connections between the arts and character education at Wake through her background in visual art and dance.
