Elizabeth Whiting

Elizabeth Whiting is Scholar of Character Pedagogy and lead teacher for the Educating Character Initiative (ECI) at Wake Forest University. She holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from Emory University, with a concentration in Religion, Conflict, and Peacebuilding. Her scholarship focuses on the role of emotion in moral life generally and in ethics education specifically. A primary goal of her teaching is to equip leaders to constructively engage conflicts arising in their professional settings and in society at large. She serves as the University Ombuds at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
