Leadership and Character Co-Hosts Voices of Our Generation
In 1953, Hanna Bloch Kohner appeared on one of America’s most prominent television shows, “This is Your Life,” telling the story of how she survived four concentration camps before moving to the United States. On November 2, Hanna’s daughter Julie joined the Wake Forest community to discuss her mother’s life, the Holocaust, and American perceptions of Judaism. Hanna’s story provides a poignant testimony to the importance and possibility of love and kindness even in the most harrowing circumstances.
This virtual event was co-sponsored by the Program for Leadership and Character, Wake Forest Jewish Life, Hillel, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. To learn more about Hanna’s life and Julie’s work, visit the website of Voices of the Generation, the charity which Julie leads, here.
