Ananthi Al Ramiah was the Director of Research and Strategic Integration in the Professional Schools. Her role combined two components: strategic integration and research. In the first aspect of her role, she led strategic integration efforts across a range of (i) professional school teams and (ii) cross-functional teams to create tailored – and potentially transformative – programs for students and faculty. By promoting cross-team collaboration and ensuring alignment, she sought to maximize the impact of the Program’s efforts. In the second aspect of her role, Ananthi led the research team in the professional schools, which specializes in measuring character development and evaluating programs and interventions centered on character and leadership formation. Her work encompassed but extended beyond theoretical development, and aimed to deliver actionable insights to shape professional education and professional identity.

A social psychologist and economist by training, Ananthi has a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, an M.S. in Development Economics and a D.Phil. (Ph.D.) in Psychology from the University of Oxford, where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar and a British Chevening Scholar. Prior to this role, she directed a research consultancy firm in Malaysia, was an assistant professor at Yale-NUS College in Singapore and worked in fixed income and economics research at an investment bank.  Her work has appeared in outlets such as American Psychologist, the Proceedings of the National Academy of SciencesDevelopmental Psychology, and the Oxford Handbook of Political Psychology
